FINAL POST

We have prepared this last entry into our website as most of the projects are now complete and our website expires this year. We'd like to Thank all of those who have checked often, gave words of encouragement and have come to enjoy our "project" as much as we have.

I dream the dreams and Gary makes them come true.
My passion sometimes requires infinite patience.
After days of long, hard work, sleepless nights and a trillion trips to Home Depot,
Fairy Tales really do come true!

Spring 2009

Spring 2009 - A LOOK BACK
We've come a long way and continue to dream of the memories we'll make in our "new" home. Please come by for a visit if you're in our area for a closer look. We absolutely love living in the city among the hustle and bustle of what Wilmot has to offer. Be sure to stop in "Hubcap House Park" as it will be sure to become one of the hottest spots in town.
The House in September of 2005 and again in September of 2008

GARAGE - CARRIGE HOUSE
We love that our garage is now complete with a "Party Room" above.

HALLWAY
What was once a long, dark hallway was opened up by taking down a wall, taking out the doorway and opening up the staircase.

LIVING ROOM - DINING ROOM/LIVING ROOM

The double window was removed from the East side of the Living Room and a larger window was put in its place. An antique Transom Window was also installed.

DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM
The original bathroom had a plastic sink. It has now been changed to include a 1920's sink and tub.

STAIRCASE
Staircase was opened up by taking down the wall. The lamp has been replaced with an 1880's electrified oil lamp.

BEDROOM - OFFICE

One of the upstairs rooms had a wall added to form a closet that included a window in it. The wall was taken down and the staircase was opened up. Makes a nice room for Gary's office.

UPSTAIRS GUEST ROOM
This is the smaller of the rooms and has actually gone "unchanged" as it is the same size and shape as the original room.

UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
The actual location of the bathroom has moved. The original area has now become the Utility Room. A "new" Bathroom was built in the "New Wing." It has a 1920's sink & tub.

NEW MASTER BEDROOM
We added a Master Bedroom above the kitchen. It is completed with a sitting area. The headboard of the bed is made from Interior Doors of the old house. The Fireplace surround is also made from recycled doors from the old house.

KITCHEN
New Kitchen has wall taken down and is completed with an old Store Counter and General Store lamp. 1920's Gas Stove, Sink with drain board and 1880's Towel Rack.

DINING ROOM - FAMILY ROOM
The once Dining Room was where the hubcaps were sold. Wall was taken down for Kitchen and Family Room to become one room.

BACK PORCH - EATING AREA

The back porch of the house that was once filled with hubcaps, floor to ceiling has now become our eating area complete with the corner cabinet that was salvaged from an old farm house on HWY K.
We've come a long way and continue to dream of the memories we'll make in our "new" home. Please come by for a visit if you're in our area for a closer look. We absolutely love living in the city among the hustle and bustle of what Wilmot has to offer. Be sure to stop in "Hubcap House Park" as it will most likely become one of the hottest stops in town!

Week of October 26, 2008

Week of October 26, 2008 - CARRIAGE HOUSE COMPLETE

The house dictated to us that it wanted to continue to be a "Farm House." To match the style & character of the house, we envisioned the garage being a carriage house. We hope we have succeeded.

With our growing family, we are certain the room above the garage will be used in family gatherings for years to come.

Week of September 10, 2008

Week of September 10, 2008 - BEGINNING OF THE FINAL PHASES

Gary finished up his brickwork on the sidewalk and patio. We have spent many a meal already out on the new patio.

As predicted, it didn't take Gary long to get started on the garage renovations. The lumber was delivered on a Wednesday afternoon and by Saturday evening the new addition to the garage was built and roofed!! He wastes no time. He then tore off all the old siding and installed windows to the current building. He even managed to get the second level started all on his own. We don't know where he gets his energy!
